My tribute series to the games and athletes and shaped my childhood!
Growing up in Seattle even though I latched onto the Oakland Athletics as my favorite team there was no denying the superstar Ken Griffey Jr. was and still is in the area. Wether it was buying packs of '89 upper deck to score a rookie card or trying to emulate that perfect swing in a backyard wiffleball homerun derby the KID was who we all wanted to be.
Bo Jackson was the man, if you didn't play with the raiders in Tecmo Bowl then you wouldn't fully know how great he was. The best two-way sport athlete of all time and video game monster. I still play Super Tecmo Bowl to this day with my good friends.
Last but not least. Tyson. Not really the best role model, but Iron Mike was the man and every kid wanted to pack that type of punch. I'll never forget the countless hours of smashing the A & B buttons trying to fight my way to the final bout in Mike Tyson's punchout.
